It depends on the Official Tattoo Model Shirt. WWE maybe doesn’t own the 3d scans and motion capture, they just license the game and the developer does the rest. In which case, switching developers means losing all the work they put in beforehand. Usually, the developer starts asking for more money because they have put in all the work at that point, WWE obvs wanted a better deal and went to a new developer who will begin the games all over again. The publisher has the rights to sell the games, they can still sell as many copies of 2k18 as they like. The publisher likely wouldn’t have access to source code, models, motion capture or anything else done by the developers to produce the game.

NBA 2K does and has impressive character models. There are tons of Official Tattoo Model Shirt. Even when SmackDown vs. Raw was being produced, that game had fantastic models, notably 2008. Plus it’s not like previous models get discarded each year, they have no reason to be redoing a model from scratch each and every year. There’s literally no excuse for this. They’ve never been able to get his face anywhere close. You’d think they put a little more effort into a Mount Rushmore type of guy. The entire game seems to have gone backward this year. This is honestly going to be the first WWE game I haven’t gotten at launch since Smackdown Just Bring It for PS2 (And that was only because I didn’t own the system).
