You think the word “Representative” doesn’t mean that the person is a representative. What? Sure, they might not align with your particular views, but the system isn’t perfect. This loops back around to my point if you feel the system isn’t working, then people need to get involved with it to change the system. Being “a Representative”, doesn’t mean you’re actually doing it. Since we have the first past the post voting most everywhere here, which reinforces a two-party system, most people at this point in US history are not being adequately represented by their representatives.

Just being “the representative from I Outkicked My Coverage Shirt Kansas”, doesn’t mean you’re actually you know…doing your job. Representing the people of your district. Maybe you’re too busy representing big business interests instead. As far as blaming nonvoters, for me, it comes down to this. Most nonvoters are poor people. Like me. Most of this country live paycheck to paycheck and are struggling to get by. They’re a blown tire from being homeless. They have a lot more pressing concerns than politics when they never notice a difference between a Barack Obama or a Trump in office. Their lives are fundamentally the same. Their prospects weren’t any better under one or the other.
