Compare it to Northern Europe, Australia, new Zealand, Canada, Japan, it just kinda sucks. It’s sad. I’m a proud Canadian and I grew up hearing the media and pop culture saying that Americans = mean and rude, and Canadians = kind and polite. As an adult, I have traveled all across Canada and vacationed in a few American cities. The American locals were absolutely the kindest and welcoming people I have met. New York and Chicago blew me away. Not saying other Canadians are rude, they generally were polite and friendly but they didn’t come across as so willingly kind and helpful as the Americans I met.
