He’s not too pleased about it. And as a punched-up boxer, the line has probably come through his mind more than once before entering the ring. Butch’s career is the thing that’s spiritually prepared him for screwing over the Wallace crew.

I think it’s about self-preservation. And I don’t think the scene where Butch stops to help Marsellus is him helping Marsellus, but self-preservation that if he helps him, he won’t be in debt to him any longer. Vincent is helping Mrs. Wallace because he’s about not getting clipped by offending Marsellus, and then definitely getting clipped if his wife dies from an OD. Jules isn’t helping anyone in the Pulp Fiction Movie Uma Thurman Shirt but himself and Vince get out of there. He still lets those robbers rob every single person in that restaurant. It’s not about him helping the robbers, self-preservation.
