I actually abandoned him for a priest because it was so frustrating past level 45 or so (eventually also level capping the warrior after the priest, hence why it took until May/June). What I should have been mentally comparing it to was leveling my second warrior on Alliance. This one was after the 1.9 talent revamp. It was like night and day easier. That is what 1.12 and now Classic warrior is like. Not 1.2 warrior. Which is more evidence of just how inaccurate private server combat models and mob stats must be if warrior still feels that difficult?

I have done a lot of testing for the Official Flamingos Mama Bear Shirt. You should most definitely grind a decent amount in the 1-6 area, mobs are a lot weaker and give decent exp. I try to be 1 LVL ahead or the same level as mobs in the killing. Having sword and board 1-10 is oof (fuck you orcs and dwarves), the quest in your starting area that has you kill 8/9 LVL mobs is just the worst. Id recommends grouping for those just to get over the hump. At 10 there should be the token elite quest that gives a green 2h, gets a lot better from there. After that it’s a rollercoaster, you feel great when you get a new web and then feel like trash when you outlive it, rinse repeat. Also, some mobs just dick you, attack speed debuff or hit debuff.

I tested a private server a couple of Official Flamingos Mama Bear Shirt a bit so the difficulty of leveling a warrior felt super exaggerated, watching streamers on the stress test looks like the low-level mobs do a lot less dmg and of course, the early zones are way more populated so pulling extra mobs is less of a concern. Socialize with your guild, and have them funnel you some green/blues they don’t need as leveling. Keeping on top of the gear curve helps. Get some aspirin too and pace yourself lol.
