When this Nice G.I. Joe A Real American Hero Shirt first came up I thought of this exact scene. Quick Kick is alright. I just find it odd that he would be able to best Snake Eyes as he has always been considered the master among them. And as you said, I can’t seem him resorting to going for a weapon in a sparring match against his one of comrades. If anything he would have taken the defeat and learned from it. At least, that’s how Hama probably would have written it. Click from the cartoon where he dominates Storm Shadow, who is considered a pretty equal match for Snake Eyes. It was the way the entire thing went down that I had a problem with.

Pretty much this. Do you want to make someone the new Snake Eyes? Sure, fine, the original was getting old in the original continuity, anyway even before he died. But at least have her been trained in the military and with actual ninjas as well. It’s so surprising that Hama would write something like this when he was so bent on having so many realistic elements back in the 80s. During the Devil’s Due days there was an excellent mini-series about Snake Eyes training an apprentice called Kamakura who had showed up decades prior. They ditched that Nice G.I. Joe A Real American Hero Shirtwhen they moved to IDW. It seems like a waste now.

For people who like GI Joe comics, he was. Granted not everybody likes the same characters, but I remember him being a real favorite when I was a kid among most of my Nice G.I. Joe A Real American Hero Shirt groups. Why couldn’t they build her up, have someone train her, develop her abilities? She’s been in the comic for 2 years. They had time to round her out, but Hama went with this trash solution.
