Yesterday I started on a model boat kit. I consider myself to be quite the amateur doodler but once you get into shading and color variation/changes that shit gets so hard. I can’t imagine doing it with thread. Use shorter strands and non-shitty thread (most thread is fine, just that sometimes you come across the Nice Flamingo Wanted To Let You Know This Ol’ Bird Caught The Big One Shirt. This really helps me. I imagine thread painting could be used for other painting styles, this just happens to be as realistic as a photo. So both.
