One of the salesmen I work with just wings it from scratch the day off but he is really good with that stuff. We sometimes had plans for displays that had been made before. But usually, we just took a picture of what we wanted (from the internet or where ever), and put a piece of grid paper over the top of it and sort of traced a “pixelated” version of it onto the grid. I actually work for Coca-Cola as a merchandiser. I know whoever did this it absolutely ruined their day and they most likely spent 5 or more hours making this and they ended up working a full 15-hour shift. Looks great, but we absolutely hate doing these. In my district, usually the Merch Supe, myself (lead) and one or two sales team members build these. We expect account managers to assist with special projects like this. We enjoy doing them, but to shove it all off to the Merch team is rude and wouldn’t fly.

I worked at a Jack Skellington And Friends Crossing Road Halloween Shirt. It’s stupid because it uses up a lot of products that people can’t even shop through. Imo displays that customers can’t pull off of are worthless. The theory is to catch their attention with the design and have a shippable part around it. With stores as cramped as they are any more that’s hard to do though. Actually they just very recently, at my store anyways, switched to just what is essentially big cardboard cutouts. Like I’d say the change was made maybe a little over a month ago. Used to be all 12pks but to cut back on inventory and costs they began making displays. Pepsi still does this in smaller markets but in larger markets, it makes sense to use the cardboard sheets.
