Yes! I was gonna comment with this Iron Maiden Killers Shirt book. But wanted to see if anyone had already put it. It’s a great read and I have had to stop myself reading it several times because of how intense it gets. It really makes you think about life, war, and so many other things. It really messes with your mind. I believe all public officials should read the book as well. The author Dalton Trumbo was on the Communist watch list and was blacklisted for this work and others. He had to screen write pseudonyms because of it. The anti-war message was not well received by Washington. All Quiet on the Western Front. Knocks any silly ideas you may have had about war being glamorous or exciting right out of your fucking head.

They had us read this in Iron Maiden Killers Shirt middle school (I live in Germany) and that shit scared me. Made us watch the movie too. I think this book is as close as one can get to know what war is really like without actually having to go to war. My uncle was in Vietnam and he does not talk about it. I know it was not a nice time for him over there. But he did once tell me the book “the thirteenth valley” was the closest book he ever read that told the story. I later told him I thought the book was incredibly boring for almost three entire reads, with only very small portions of extreme violence and depravity and anything resembling “war”.
