The part where the Thing converts like five people at once with these whippy tentacle things killed the movie completely, why doesn’t it just do that every time? The blood test scene in the I Never Knew How Much Love My Heart Could Hold Til Called Mommy Shirt. Oh sure, there were plenty of problems with that movie. I’d still have killed for practical effects though, even if it wouldn’t have made it all that much better. One of my favorite parts of Disney parks are the animatronics and trying to imagine the practical physics that goes into their motions. They can do some crazy stuff these days.
