wut? its a 4-year-old or Good Harry Fine Line Shirt shit. What do you want them to accomplish to warrant a celebration? They cant write thesis’ yet. For a kid this age, brushing their teeth is an accomplishment. It’s literally just an opportunity for the parent to take cute pictures. No one thinks it’s a huge accomplishment, it’s just a cute interaction with your kid. It’s basically like playing dress-up, it gets the parents excited about the day in the future when they actually will graduate from something important like college. This is not that hard, how do you people not immediately get this? Was gonna comment the same but figured I’d get a bunch of downvotes, graduating from anything before high school is fucking stupid.

The title is also Good Harry Fine Line Shirt nonsense. She’s probably crying because she’s 6 years old and some kids cry 5+ times a day at that age over literally nothing. Very hard to believe she’s moved by some overwhelming and fully-realized sense of accomplishment. Is she the first person in her family to graduate from Kindergarten? Why is graduating from what looks like kindergarten or 1st grade a huge achievement that needs to be celebrated with a cap, gown, and a ceremony? What’s going to happen to these participation award children when they enter the cutthroat real world? To be honest it’s a struggle.

Every day my Good Harry Fine Line Shirt continues. To not pat me on the back for showing up I go home and weep into my childhood participation trophies. I asked for a raise the other day and when I was asked why I deserve a raise I said ‘because I’m a winner’, then my mom came to the office to change my diaper and put me down for my nap and when I woke up I was fired. Every borderline non-functional moron I went to high school with, and plenty of students who fit the textbook definition of mediocre also wore a cap and gown at graduation. It just means you passed. You showed up enough. Did bare minimum, get a cap and gown. It’s not a trophy and school is not a contest with a single winner. People who go above and beyond are recognized in other ways.
