Agreed. I am an extremely passive person (largely due to the fact any emotion will be used against me so why bother. Being yelled at for being indifferent is easier than emotions). Once he’d been ranting for a while. It bugged the crap out of me. That, and his stupid mole. I just kinda let it wash over me and didn’t take it in. (or I probably did, but damned if I remember any of the shit he spewed.). The glasses thing! I STILL do Funny 45 Very Bad Would Not Recommend Shirt. I am as blind as a bat without correction, so often in uncomfortable situations, I will take them off/put them on my head so I can’t truly see the person. My mom used to come to my room as I was going to bed and yell at me while I pretended to sleep. Looking back I’m realizing no adult should be like this. She was pissed, so she came to her child who was going to sleep and take that opportunity to yell at her.

My neutral low tone of voice and general non-expressiveness was always interpreted as having a bad attitude. It happened so much, I just started actually giving attitude because I was like “fuck it, might as well grow some balls if Funny 45 Very Bad Would Not Recommend Shirt.”. Bonus ducks: If I hadn’t raised my voice or anything, they would goad me until I did become angry, name-calling, and other stuff. They also would never acknowledge how they aggravated and tormented me into it. Yes! I was a smart Alek, smartass, had attitude, the wrong tone, snotty, etc etc etc. Just wait until you have kids, then you’ll know! Yeah, no, my kids are 24 and 20 and they are perfectly normal.
