My husband wears every other type of Hanes t-shirt in size 2X. These were too small. Nice feeling shirt but fit at least 1 size if not 2 smaller. He’s not gained any weight or anything so I know for sure it’s the shirts. Luckily they fit my son who usually wears a regular large. So make sure to get at least 1 size larger.

I bought six of these in XL. I’m 5’9 and 160 lbs. I like to wear my shirts loose, so I opt for the XL which shrinks in the wash to a more manageable size for me. They have no stretch. My sizing experience is probably not a lot of help to others. The quality, however, is great. It’s made of substantial cotton, thicker than most t-shirts like Champion. These things will last me several years.

Well made fits great, soft and it is very comfortable. Great quality and I don’t find it to be too thin or too thick. Just about right and what I would expect a T-shirt to be. It is 100% cotton so if you don’t take proper care it’ll shrink. Wash it in cold or warm water, never hot. And air dry it, don’t use hot air drier because it’ll shrink and the color will fade in no time. Just hang it on a hanger like it is folded in half, not by the arms cut and it’ll retain its shape and you’ll enjoy it for a long time.
The deep forest green looks better than on the product photo, wish they had more colors (deep dark) to choose from… if they did I’d buy more.

These “Beefy T-Shirts” used to be more true to size. I ordered a Large despite the fact that most of my shirts are Medium, thinking that a little more room might prove more comfortable in the hotter months. I habitually wash new clothes before wearing them so that anything left over from the manufacturing process may be removed. These “large” t-shirts fit like a smallish medium. I have had some previous experience with the “beefy t’s” in years past. They didn’t shrink much, and were durable. These T-Shirts feel a little less substantial than the ones in memory, and a large t-shirt should not feel like a medium after washing it.
Given that the price is good, and the quality OK, as long as you keep in mind that they run a bit small, these shirts may work for you. They fit me, but are like medium rather than size large.

I love these t-shirts, but there’s something that’s very important to know before ordering. All of the colors are made from 100% 6.1 oz rung-spun cotton except for Light Steel and Charcoal Heather. Light Steel is 10% polyester and Charcoal Heather is 40% polyester. This difference also affects the way the shirts fit. The 100% cotton colors are much tighter. For example, I can wear a Medium in the Steel and Charcoal colors, but I need a Large in the other colors.
Personally, I was surprised to discover that I prefer the fit and feel of the Charcoal best, the Steel second best, and the others least. I had assumed that the 100% cotton would be the most comfortable, but I find I prefer the fabrics with a little polyester in them. They are softer and have a little more stretch to them.
They are all comfortable and durable, and the pockets are large enough to hold my cell phone, pens, business cards, etc. Just be aware of the different fabrics when you order, and consider getting one size larger in the 100% cotton versions than in the cotton/poly blend versions.
UPDATE: I have had these t-shirts for just over six months now, and I’m beginning to notice some pilling in the Charcoal Heather (40% polyester) shirts, but not in the other colors. It may be because I like the feel of them better and tend to wear them more often than the others, or it may be that the 40/60 poly blend is not as durable as the ones with a higher cotton content. I suspect it’s the latter because I have had many 100% cotton Hanes Beefy-T’s for years, and have never seen any pilling in them before.

I now know the 100% cotton ( white ) & 99% cotton ( Ash ) feel *good*,
but I don’t like the Light Steel 90% cotton/10% polyester ones: they feel too fake, to me.
These Light Steel ones are probably better for winter, as undershirts ( less cotton is better for layering in winter,
more cotton is better for evaporation in summer: see “98.6′ Keep Your Ass Alive!” book for lots of good info like that : )
Go to the Hanes site, find the Beefy T’s with pockets page, open the *details* description section, & boggle at the number of different cotton/polyester ratios!
It looks like the dye/color is *only* in the polyester, so the darker the color, the less cotton in it!
Anyways, *for me* the White and the Ash are the only 2 having sufficiently-little polyester in them for me to like the cloth,
& for some reason the Ash isn’t available in affordable 2-packs?? ( Bah! )
Hanes shouldn’t hide the composition-differences: to many, different composition is a completely different product!
Some are only 40% cotton!

Anyways, now ya know THE Gotcha about these things, so you can have good chance for finding what you really want, right?

Believe it or not, men’s pocket T-shirts are not easy to find. My husband only likes T-shirts with pockets and having looked in several stores for them with no luck, I found them on Amazon.com and he was very happy with them when they arrived. They are of excellent quality and have been washed many times without fading or shrinking. I won’t bother wandering through stores again now that I know that I can get exactly what he wants online!

The grey and the dark blue fit perfectly. The dark green was too tight in the shoulders and the chest but the length was fine. Gave to a neighbor that is a size XL and it fit him fine. As the price was so reasonable I couldn’t be bothered to return it. Did not reorder as I have had problems with this product in the same color but in a hoodie before and had to keep sending back. Did not want to go through all that again. It took 3 tries and still was sent the wrong size. Goods marked correctly but actually much smaller than lable. Amazon checked their stock and found a supplier lable error with this product. Ques this is the same problem with the t-shirt.

Shirt quality is good. I have had Jerzees tee shirts for ten years and they are old but i still wear them. I hope these newer models give me the same service. I would recommend these shirts to anyone.
